Before you can start using AvaTax in AbanteCart, you need to have account with Avalara and company setup https://www.avalara.com/integrations/abantecart/
Once your account activated please set up in AvaTax Admin Console your nexus jurisdictions to tell AvaTax when and where to calculate and report taxes for your company. You initially add nexus jurisdictions when you configure your company tax profile.
